Voluntary Redundancy Scheme update
Dear Branch Secretary
The Association had previously issued information on the Voluntary Redundancy Scheme as part of an ezine in July. Details can be found on the AHCPS website in the Circulars and Newsletters section (Circular 10/2012). Here is a link to the information: http://ahcps.ie/Voluntary_Redundancy_in_the_Public_Service_Collective_Agreement/Default.399.html
The Association has received the following update from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform:
The Government is considering the introduction of a targeted Voluntary Redundancy (VR) Scheme in parts of the Public Service. Details of how the scheme will operate in particular sectors and public service employments are still being worked out and will be announced in due course when final decisions are made. There are currently no specific proposals for how the scheme will be made operational and announcements will be made when all policy and operational matters have been finalised.
The actual terms of the redundancy payments have already been agreed with the Public Services Committee of ICTU, modeled on the previous VR scheme in the HSE.
Please circulate to all members.
Regards
Dave Thomas
General Secretary
