Circular 5/2026 – Trade Union Week
Dear Branch Secretary
The annual Trade Union Week takes place from 27th April – 3rd May 2026. This is an initiative of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and part of the Better in a Trade Union campaign. There will be videos on social media platforms, posters on public transport and bus stops and radio advertisements. The purpose of the campaign is to highlight the benefits of trade union membership across all sectors of the economy and to use this to drive an increase in membership.
There will be events on throughout the week, with the workers Memorial Day event on Tuesday 28th April. The National Executive will also be meeting on this week. The Association will also be hosting a ‘Women in Leadership’ event on 28 April, a circular inviting applications to attend will be issuing in the coming week.
We want to encourage all branches to hold or host events.
