‘Thinking of TLAC?’ – A Career Development Seminar for AHCPS Members

Dear Branch Secretary

As you will be aware, in 2019 the Association offered a number of career development events to members who are interested in progressing their career within the Civil and Public Service. The first series of events was aimed at members who wish to progress to Principal Officer level and was very well received.

Our next event in this series is  ‘Thinking of TLAC?’ – and is aimed at members interested in progressing to Assistant Secretary level. The event will take place as follows (please note the change of date from previous circulars):

Wednesday 23rd October – at the Morrison Hotel, Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1.

The event will commence at 9.30 and finish at lunchtime and a light lunch will be provided. The event is free to AHCPS members.

The seminar will be facilitated by Mr. Bryan Andrews, former Chief Executive of the Public Appointments Service and will also feature guest speakers at Assistant Secretary and Secretary General level.

Participants at each event will be able to:

  • Consider whether or not an Assistant Secretary opportunity is right for them.
  • Hear expert advice on the TLAC selection process and how to best present their case.
  • Learn about how to develop their senior leadership capabilities
  • Hear from a recent appointee about making the move to A/Sec.
  • Hear what Secretary Generals expect of Assistant Secretaries.

To register for this half-day seminar, please email roisin@hotel-solutions.ie

providing name, grade, Department and contact details quoting Thinking of TLAC?.

Please note that the seminar will have a limited capacity and places will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Please ensure that this circular is circulated to all members in your branch.    This circular is also available on the website.
